シンガポールのインターナショナルスクールは、多いとは聞きますが、それを網羅的にまとめたリストは、本当に入手が難しいです。日本の教育コンサルや、移住エージェントなどは、提携している学校だけに絞りこんで特に紹介しているため、ホームページを見ても特定の提携校の紹介は詳しいのですが、なかなか全体像が見えてきません。
公平な情報ソースとして、日本の情報誌SingaLifeが定期的に記事にしているインターナショナルスクールの特集や一覧も大変役に立つのですが、数ある学校の中で日本人が検討しそうな一部の学校の紹介にとどまっており、必然的に、それらの学校は日本人の比率が多くなってしまいます。

このリストを参考に、どのカリキュラムがお子様に最もふさわしいか、これまでの教育との継続性、転換がスムーズ化、将来の進みたい方向に適しているいるか、などを検討します。
イギリスや、アメリカのカリキュラムで学んでいたお子様や、将来行きたい大学や、国などが明確になっている方は、それにより学校がある程度絞られます。
日本から転校する場合は、インターに入る場合はどのカリキュラムでも大きな変化になるため、カリキュラムによる差はあまりないかもしれません。そのためシンガポールの多くの学校が採用しているInternational Bacalaureate(IB)を選ぶご家庭が多い印象です。
IBは、世界のパスポートといわれるカリキュラムで、日本でも今大変人気です。IBカリキュラムについては、後日の記事でまた深堀したいと思います。
